Our Philosophy

At ESNS, we believe every child is unique and deserving of a nurturing environment that celebrates their individuality. Our early childhood program is designed to build self-esteem, foster positive social interactions, and spark the natural curiosity and creativity that lives in every preschooler.

We place strong emphasis on self-help skills, empowering children to feel capable, confident, and independent. Through age-appropriate, play-based activities, children are encouraged to solve problems, take risks, and explore the world around them.

Our curriculum supports growth across all domains: physical, cognitive, emotional, and social, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for lifelong learning.

The preschool is located in the East Wing of the Ethical Society building on Clayton Road. The Ethical Society is a liberal religious fellowship rooted in universal humanistic principles rather than any specific creed, ritual, or tradition. In keeping with this inclusive philosophy, the Nursery School warmly welcomes children of all racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Membership in the Ethical Society is not required for enrollment.

Melissa Reif, alumni parent

"Having sent my two (now elementary-aged) daughters through Ethical Society Nursery School, I cannot recommend it highly enough.  Not only were they both academically well-prepared for kindergarten after having finished at ESNS, but they additionally because of the unparalleled warn, nurturing atmosphere of the program, they developed strong and lasting relationship with their teachers, director, and classmates.  They were honored as individuals and encouraged to develop in their own way throughout their time there, and for me, finding a pre-school that understood and cared about child development enough to foster that was invaluable."
